Coming by Ferry to Newfoundland
When taking the Marine Atlantic ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland, we are (approximately) a 691 kilometer (429.5 mile) drive east along the Trans Canada Highway. The Trans Canada Highway takes you to our front door.
During the summer months you can also reach Newfoundland via the ferry from North Sydney to Argentia, Newfoundland. From Argentia, follow Route 202 to the Trans Canada Highway, then travel west for approximately 109 kilometers (68 miles).

Driving Directions
The Lakeside at Thorburn is located in beautiful Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. You will find us on the Eastern portion of Newfoundland just 10 minutes west of Clarenville and 15 minutes east of Terra Nova National Park. We are approximately 2 hours from St. John’s, Newfoundland's capital. Follow west along Route 1, the Trans Canada Highway, for about 209 kilometers (130 miles).
